Thirty-four percent thought the shield would worsen
Poland's international standing and 32 percent said it would weaken Poland's position in the EU, the poll said.
Seventy percent complained that the Polish government has not informed the public enough about the missile shield.
The CBOS poll was conducted from Aug. 3-6 and 859 people were questioned.
A similar poll in July put opposition against the shield at 55 percent and support at 28 percent.
The United States wants to deploy part of its missile defense shield in eastern Europe -- a radar system in the Czech Republic and a missile interceptor site in Poland.
Polish-US talks on the possible deployment have been ongoing since May.
